About the Cassar Academy

The Cassar Academy of Choi Kwang Do is Europe’s biggest school of Choi Kwang Do. It was set up by Vince Cassar who is the Master Instructor and chief motivator!

"Over 40 years experience"

Vince has been practising martial arts for 40 years and was a former child National Champion in Malta as well as a successful competitor at adult level in the UK. Vince opened the Academy to provide students with a safe and supportive environment to learn an extremely effective martial art.

The Cassar Academy of Choi Kwang Do runs a minimum of 50 classes a week, with students ranging from children to adults. A lot of the classes have mixed ages with close one-on-one support from the instructors meaning that you can learn at a pace that suits you.

Choi Kwang Do is based on the traditional martial arts philosophy that emphasizes the ideal of personal and social development being paramount, rather than sports competition. This is something that we endeavour to teach to all of our students.

The Cassar Academy classes provide a safe and non-competitive environment for students that help them grow not only physically, but mentally as well. The development of good manners, self-discipline and self-confidence are all key objectives of Choi Kwang Do, as well as the development of effective self-defence skills.

Choi Kwang Do is a dynamic art that is continually evolving. As new information on health and fitness are discovered by scientists, and improved training methods developed, they are formally integrated into the Choi Kwang Do training system.

The Cassar Academy of Choi Kwang Do has invested heavily in our facilities and staff to ensure that all our students learn the most up to date Choi Kwang Do system in an environment that is perfect for martial arts. We are welcoming and supportive and you’ll find many like-minded people to learn with while you discover the wonderful art of Choi Kwang Do.
